How Travelling Can Change Your Life!

Whenever you are having a rough week or rough month, what does your brain tell you? Go for a short trip, right? Because we all know travelling is beneficial for our health- both physical and mental. Not only the act of travelling, but all the different aspects related to travelling can also be equally profitable. So let's start before you get lost looking at the beautiful pictures of the turquoise sea or an amazing sunset from the snow-laden mountains that would uplift your mood in no time. Let's look at exactly what transactions take place when you take a break from the monotony of daily life and travel somewhere, anywhere.

  • Unwind and recharge- As a college student with an evening job, let me tell you for people like us, and any other professionals working twelve-hour shifts need to disconnect in order to rejuvenate and come back stronger. Working or studying for days, weeks, months on end may help you get closer to your goal, but without a very deserving break in between, you might just burn out, go into depression, or have an anxiety attack. A whole lot of other ailments come from this chronic stress. If going into another culture or country seems too much, just go on a solo trip to a local place- quiet and remote and calm. Remember, the goal for you is to relax and enjoy a break.

  • Stress and anxiety reduction- Probably the most important health benefit of travelling is that travel decreases the level of stress and anxiety. Without any deadlines, difficult clients or bosses hovering over you, you can peacefully sojourn in a new place, with different people and different sights around you. It can reset your body and mind and do wonders.

  • Improves mental health- Even planning a trip can be significantly therapeutic. It boosts happiness and feels rewarding to put everything in place- all the bookings of hotels and all the places to go to. The anticipation of a new experience and the feeling of deserving that experience is simply out of the world. And of course, the actual travelling can be very enriching and uplifting for your mental health, strengthening your mind and making it more adaptable.

  • Raises creativity- Travelling can fuel your creativity, also giving you a sense of personal growth. When you step out of your comfort zone, even if your destination is just across the state, you are still experiencing new things. If you are a student, fashion designer, painter, sculptor, musician, author, photographer, chef, advertising personnel, video game designer struggling to come up with an innovative and unique idea for your next creation, a trip would definitely help you to reignite that spark of new things.

  • Makes you happier- Travel makes you happier- Getting away from your daily grind, from parents, kids, freelancing, studying- anything that has been weighing you down just melts away, leaving you and your precious happy time. Also, studies show that money spent on experiential purchases leaves you with a longer lasting sense of happiness, so if you don't go on a shopping haul and spend that on a tour somewhere, it'll leave you more buzzing than ever.

  • Expands your knowledge-

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime."- Mark Twain.

Travel not only reduces stress but also expands your horizon. Meeting new people and adjusting to new surroundings, adapting to new situations would definitely make you more culturally aware of all the different traditions and cultures all over the world and make you respectful towards them. It will also sharpen your mind.

  • Being part of the cultural transactions- The people you are meeting while travelling are also meeting you. All the new cultures, languages, traditions and so forth that you are so excited to explore, they are also getting their first taste of it. A taste of your culture, your traditions and so on. So remember to be a good representative of your hometown, values and beliefs!

  • Boosts immunity- Exposing your body to different climatic conditions can make it stronger. Studies show that openness to dirt, minor injuries, and small illness boosts the immunity of the body. When you are travelling to different places, you are giving your body a chance to alter to all kinds of viruses which boosts your immunity and makes you less prone to fall ill with common ailments.

  • Increases life expectancy- Did you know those who travel frequently have a longer life expectancy than others? Doesn't matter if it's a pilgrimage, adventure or a quiet village, the experience will increase your chances of living longer. Studies show that if you go for a short trip for three days a month, it will replenish you for the next thirty to forty-five days.

  • Knock you into shape- Travel is a fantastic opportunity to escalate your fitness routines. While travelling, you won't be sitting in a chair from nine to five while other people will serve you coffee and lunch, but you will explore and roam around the site of your choosing. Adventure sports like paragliding, rafting, mountaineering and normal swimming, paddle boarding can help you to be more fit and fine and healthy.

  • Develop a healthy sleep pattern- Poor sleeping cycle with high stress levels can be a very taxing mixture for us to sustain a healthy lifestyle. From irritability to poor cognitive performance and efficiency, sleeplessness can be hard to shake off. But the recommended seven to seven and a half hours' sleep per night can easily be achieved while you are travelling.

Travelling helps you with a whole assortment of problems which can disrupt your daily life. You are most definitely going to improve your happiness, experience new things, strengthen your mind, and remove stress and anxiety. So do not just keep browsing through the catalogue, book your holiday now!
